Question

Gift Wrapping Business?

Hi-- I'm starting a gift wrapping business for my neighborhood. I was wondering how much I should charge...THEY will provide the gift wrap they want used and the bows and everything. So my mom says charge about $4.00/hour. Also I can go over to people houses while they are at work and the kids are at school. So how much should I charge? Also, what do you think of the name "Santa's Little Helper" Or can you come up with something else? Thanks Well I already have two business in the neighborhood, So I am very well known in the neighborhood...people have left me at their houses before...Also I am NOT supplying the gift wrapping supplies. I am only wrapping. So I do not see the need to charge extra for fancier gifts. And I have keys to many peoples houses...

I think that you should charge per gift. Also you might purchase some ribbons and little extras just in case the gift wrap is kind of boring. This way you can do an awesome job and people will want to come back to you and refer you to friends. Charging by the hour is one option and $4 isn't too bad. You might think about charging per gift as another idea. For example: $1 per small gift. $2 per medium. $2.50 per large gift. And if it is funny shaped and complicated to wrap charge extra. A clever name (I like yours, here are some alternatives): Santa's Gift Wrapper or Handy Holiday Helper Have fun!

I wouldn't charge by the hour, I'd charge by the gift. Something like 50 cents for a plain old ordinary box and simple bow, and a dollar for something fancier or oddly shaped. How are you going to go to their house when nobody is home? Do you expect them to give you the key to their house? That part of your plan doesn't sound feasible at all. I'd make arrangements to go there when they're home, at their convenience -- or if they don't want their kids to see what you're doing, they could bring the gifts and the wrapping materials to you at your home.

I would charge 4-7 dollars a box depending on the size of it. The business name sounds cute but you wouldn't do it for just Christmas would you? Would if someone wants you to wrap them a birthday present? Then the name wouldn' t suit it. Unless you are just making it a Christmas thing. Think of something more wrappy. LOL "Wrappings" "Designer Wrapping" "Design Wrapper" "R&B Gift Wrapping" The R&B stand for Ribbon&Bow Hope this helps
