The way that it works is that you place the orders as your customers give them to you and you only keep the products in your house until your ready to deliver them to your customers. There are a wide variety of products but like I said you only need to order them as your customers order them. As a new rep your commission is 40% so for example if you place a total order of $100 you would make $40 so of course the more you sell the more you would make. I personally make about $300 every two weeks so it does work. The key is to also give the brochure to EVERYONE. I hope that answers all of your questions but if you have more you can contact me directly.

Hi. I have been selling Avon for a year-and-a-half, and am about to hang it up because I don't have a passion for sales. Avon is a good opportunity, but will not make you any money unless you work very hard. It is very helpful to be a good salesperson. In fact, there is free training online (once you've registered) to help with those skills. If you know a lot of people and find places to hand out your books it is a great start. The hard part is following up. You need to contact people again to see if they'd like to order. Nine times out of ten they won't just come to you, and if they do they won't keep repeating business without encouragement- samples, emails, product suggestions, etc. Some people who are business-minded and can make a living, and become wealthy from selling Avon, but it doesn't happen without amassing a downline. You need to recruit people under you and make sure that their sales are as good as yours. The big problem is that the market is saturated. There is an Avon rep or a Mary Kay rep on every corner. Some people are nasty and will take your books out of a store and replace them with theirs. The website is a good alternative and assistant in your business, especially if you don't want to drive around a lot to deliver. Beware of scams, however. You can keep it for free as long as you have one order made to the site per campaign. Otherwise, you are charged $7.50 biweekly. If you choose to go online, I recommend looking into the site's message boards. There are a lot of experienced reps who can help you with ideas for selling, parties, beauty advice, etc. In order to sell, you are going to have to spend money on product. By that, I don't mean that you need to keep an inventory in your house. You need to know what you're selling and become well-versed. So try the products out, and make sure you wear a fragrance or a lipstick. People will ask about it and feel confident knowing that their rep is actually using the products and enjoys them. Just try to resist all of the "Deals of the Day" and only buy what you really need, or your profit will be gone. Good luck, and email me if you have any questions! P.S.- I do not recommend signing up for the "Preferred Preview". You will have products automatically delivered to you. You have a certain amount of time to send them back, otherwise, you are charged for them and can sell them directly to customers or use them as demo products.
