Question
I have adapted a simple wooden patented product for a new market; HOW do I go about using this and how much £?
I want to use a simple wooden patented product for a new market but adapted; HOW can I do this? I want to use an old patented product for a new market in a different size and design. This product has been used in different materials for different markets but not for the use I want it for. The product has only ever been used for a certain market but used extensively by many different companies/makers/manufactureres. I would like to change the size of this product and the design and aim it for a totally new market, How do I go about this with minimal funds? This has not been done with this product so it will be a totally new angle but a much needed one in my experience. Can anyone help me? I am in the UK I have done a patent search. It seems everyone that is using this design uses the original patent but not variated from the original patent, so they are probably just using it under license. How do I go about get a licence to use the patent?

Maybe start by searching for other patents that might cover your use or other devices that do the same thing: gb ... Is the old patent more than 20 years old, ie expired or still in force ? If you find nothing you have a choice of doing it your self or paying. Suggest that after a some initial search by yourself you contact the patents office.
