Question

I am selling an item on ebay. A bidder asked me to cancel his bid. Do I have to?

I am selling an item on ebay. The auction ends today and the high bidder asked me to cancel his bid because he was going to look for an upgraded version of the item. This seems like a bogus reason to retract a bid. I have a few problems with this. First off, obviously without his bid driving up the price, the auction will go down a lot of money. Second, I worry that the second highest bidder might have already looked for the item elsewhere and would no longer be interested. I always believed that unless you bid accidentally or incorrectly (ie 34.50 instead of 3.45) that your bid is binding. What are solutions to this mess? Thanks a lot

Tell him you'll leave bad feedback, but you'll do it. It's not worth the pissing match.

he committed to buying it, he can't back out. tell him sorry, you won't retract his bid, but he could re-sell it again. you shouldn't have to go through the hassle of reposting and getting lower money because he changed his mind.
